The Last Palisade
Created for the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.2 in one week on the theme of "calm before the storm" by Michael Smilovitch with art by Gabriel Ramos.
The first chapter of an interactive fiction story. You are Motus, a commander sent to help in the final line of defence against hordes of goblins. Your squad consists of strange characters: a meditative rock elemental looking for peace, an eccentric bird person seeking pleasure, and a goblin misfit out for revenge. Your decisions in dialogue will grant them different bonuses in combat.
Click on characters to trigger conversations with them. When you've spoken to all three, you can trigger the first combat.
Thanks for playing!
I plan on updating this more in the future now that the framework is all there. I have lots of plans to improve on it and a lot more story written !
Troubleshooting:
– If the main menu appears cut off in your browser try making it full screen by clicking the blue arrows on the bottom right of the screen.
– If you don't see your mouse just click and it will appear.
– Turn on sound for maximum immersion!
– Seems to work on mobile phones in browser as well when in full screen, just hold down your finger to simulate a mouse hovering around the screen.
Known Issues:
– Going back to the main menu after finishing the game will not reset progression but refreshing the page should.
